I love librarians! We bounce ideas off each other, share our struggles, and celebrate our successes. So I want to give a big thank you to the generous librarian who was the original winner of AASL’s Share the Wealth Campaign, but decided to pay it forward and gave me (the runner up) the opportunity to attend AASL’s 17th National Conference & Exhibition in Columbus, Ohio.
And I am ready for it!
I am ready to EXPERIENCE a National Conference & Exhibition! I’m looking forward to everything about it. The General Sessions and Keynotes where we will be inspired and motivated by all the exceptional speakers. I’m excited to meet and talk with the awesome authors and illustrators. I’m ready to experience the tours, Unconference, workshops, exhibits, bookstore, networking with other librarians, and all the fabulous sessions.
I am ready to continue my professional EDUCATION and learn about the current innovation in technology, literacy, literature, research, information literacy, and all the fabulous topics that will be covered in the sessions.
I’m ready to educate the students, teachers, and administrators in my school and district on what I learned to help students and teachers.
I am ready to lead the way in the EVOLUTION of the school library and school librarian. We know that school libraries are changing and it is exciting. We know that our profession is changing, and that is also exciting. Let’s meet this new adventure head on, tackle it, and be the educational leaders that we are!
But most of all, I am ready to have a good time with new librarian friends! Since I’m from Ohio, I can’t wait to share C-bus with everyone! Columbus is has great sports teams (Go Buckeyes!), great culture, great restaurants, and great shopping! I’m ready to meet all of you and together we will EXPERIENCE all that our profession has to offer, receive and deliver EDUCATION for ourselves and our school colleagues, and be a leader of the EVOLUTION that is a school library. I will be sharing my experience at the National Conference & Exhibition on my Facebook and Twitter accounts. Please feel free to follow me @MindyEngler and @McKMediaCenter
