Make Your Library POP During School Library Month

Celebrate all month—or pick a day or a week—whatever your schedule allows. This calendar of activity ideas, author and ambassador quotes, and professional development links will help you along the way.

Suggested Daily Activity
Create a fun visual display of hot titles or new books with Goodreads or Librarything.  Widgets can be embedded on your school library website or when printed, the book cover art just pops!

Suggested Activities by Grade

  • Elementary: Have students write poems about why the library is not just a quiet place anymore.
  • Middle: Have students tweet about how the school library is a great place.
  • High:  Host a student-led poetry reading or poetry slam in the school library.
