Programming Tips Inspired by SLM Authors – April 27th – April 30th

This is the last week that the School Library Month Committee will post the quotes from the authors highlighted in Social Media during the week. As in previous weeks, quotes will be accompanied by tips offering practical suggestions for school librarians.

Libraries as safe havens are nothing new but the opportunities to pull more students into the space has never been greater than with the addition of a Makerspace area.  Students seeking an escape from curriculum or peer pressures can borrow chess boards or lego kits or knitting bags…the costs needs not be high.  Start with some simple ideas and see where it leads.  Check out AASL President-Elect Leslie Preddy’s Pinterest board to learn more.
