The Senate HELP Committee will begin voting on the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) TOMORROW, Tuesday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. School libraries are NOT included in that bill! An amendment is needed to include them.

Senator Whitehouse (D-RI) has agreed to offer an amendment calling for an effective school library program to be part of the bill, but he needs at least 13 votes to prevail in the Committee. There are 22 states with Senators on the HELP committee and we badly need them to be one of those 13 votes.

Below are sample tweets to send to the senators in those 22 states. If your state is listed, please take a moment to tweet your senator about supporting Senator Whitehouse’s amendment.
